Anthropic just released Claude Opus 5. Same price as Opus 4.8 ($5 / $25 per million tokens, in/out)!
It promises near frontier performance as Fable 5, at half the price.
Benchmarks, per Anthropic:
- first on Frontier-Bench v0.1 for coding; within 0.5% of Fable 5's peak on CursorBench 3.2 at half the cost;
- 3x the next-best model on ARC-AGI 3;
- first on OSWorld 2.0 computer use at a third of Fable 5's cost.
- Vendor-run, as always — treat the deltas as directional and the cost ratios as the actual pitch.
Is it nerfed?
Not on day one 😅, but we're keeping an eye on it; we already added it to the nerfboard.
